Nutty Putty Cave 2002

It was a really nice spring weekend when we went out to Nutty Putty Cave on the other side of Utah Lake. We camped near the cave, and then got up early in the morning on Saturday to be the first ones in the cave.

Click on the picture to see it full sized. These are just the thumbnail photos.

It was about 5:30 Saturday morning when we got up, just as it was getting light.

The moon was full a couple of days ago, so it was still very bright.

We managed to drive the car most of the way up the hill to the cave. In the background you can see the valley below.

Here's the whole group just before heading to the cave. In the background you can see Mt Nebo and other mountains across the lake.

As we started going down in the cave I noticed the camera lens fogging up. It was really humid, especially in the first part of the cave.

Here are a couple more foggy pictures - this is Aaron and Ryan (and part of Steven).

There is a rope that really helps you get up and down the steep parts.

Here's Steven coming down on the rope.

That's Nic, just getting down on the rope.

Down in the cave further it wasn't so humid, and I was able to get better pictures.
